YA Writing Contest

321 Press, a subdivision of SUNNY DAY PUBLISHING, LLC, is committed to improving health through literacy and the promotion of narratives that highlight diverse perspectives.

We are calling upon all young writers in U.S. high-schools, to submit manuscripts for publishing consideration.

The contest is open to those in grades 8-12. The contest is open to students who are residents of the United States.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

  • Only ONE entry per student.
  • All entries should be double spaced, 12-point font.
  • Due to the age group, a brief statement signed by a parent or legal guardian with the student’s legal name, indicating that the submission is original and no parts are plagiarized, must accompany all submissions.
  • Work that has been published elsewhere, in any format, including online and self published, is not eligible.
  • There are no submission fees or application forms.
  • Stories should be no more than 2000 words in length and submitted with a cover letter that includes the student’s name, address, phone number, email address, and brief biographical note.

All entries must be submitted VIA EMAIL to: 321PressEditor@gmail.com prior to Midnight, E.S.T. April 30, 2016.

After a winner has been selected, he or she, and their parents/guardians, will be notified directly. The winner’s book will be published in 6 months, free of charge, and include all edits and illustrations necessary to complete your book, without changing context of the book. The completed book, will be 6 x 9, black and white interior, with a full color cover.

The winner’s book will be listed on the SUNNY DAY PUBLISHING, LLC website, and on Amazon.com for sale.

After the winner has been selected, all other submissions will be destroyed.
